AMGUARD™ Celebrates the American Spirit

Launched American Innovators Program; Supports Project EverGreen’s “GreenCare for Troops”

Golf course management and pest management professionals are innovators by nature, demonstrating ingenuity and creativity every day to keep their industries running. In celebration of this work ethic – and the American spirit – AMGUARD^TM Environmental Technologies launched its American Innovators recognition program in 2022.

Golf course, sports turf, lawn care and pest management professionals were invited to nominate their peers for the title of “American Innovator.” They did so by visiting the AMGUARD web site and explaining in 300 words or fewer and with up to two photos how their nominee demonstrates innovation in one of two categories: 1. product use or cultural practices or 2. marketing and business management. One winner will be awarded in each category.

“The American Innovators program is our way of recognizing golf course management and pest management professionals who push for perfection in all that they do,” said Shayne M. Wetherall, CEO, AMGUARD Environmental Technologies. “When we celebrate each other’s progress – our daily successes – we collectively inspire new breakthroughs. As a company that prides itself on offering innovative American-made technologies, it’s an honor to recognize those who embody the American spirit.”

Nominations closed Jun. 30, 2022. A selection committee comprised of industry leaders, influencers and peers is currently reviewing nominations, and the 2022 American Innovators winners will be announced at PestWorld 2022 (pest management professionals) and the 2023 GCSAA Conference and Trade Show (golf course management, lawn and landscape professionals). Each winner will be awarded their own symbol of American ingenuity and craftmanship – an extra-large, Legacy Series wooden American “Flag of Valor,” handcrafted by American veterans.

Celebrating American Service

AMGUARD not only celebrates American innovation; it also recognizes American service. The company is a sponsor of Project EverGreen’s GreenCare for Troops program, which mobilizes complimentary pest, lawn and landscape services for military families through its network of volunteers. AMGUARD presented a $25,000.00 check to the organization in early 2022.

Cindy Code, executive director, Project EverGreen, said the time is right for the collaboration – and the American Innovators recognition. “Military families face many challenges when a loved one is deployed, and more than ever, they appreciate having healthy green spaces where they can relax, reflect and let their children play,” she said. “Green industry professionals are creative and enthusiastic, so it’s no surprise to see them stepping up with great energy to support these families. They’re often humble by nature, but it’s time to shine a spotlight on them and thank them for their hard work and willingness to give back.”
